Not one day of my life has my family not owned dog. For this blog post, I wanted to give some insights on the dogs that I have owned personally and recommend which is the best. Here are some of the different breeds and facts about these dogs.
American Eskimo
The very first dog I ever had. A beautiful, long-haired white dog. The American Eskimo is a medium size dog that needs some work. I wasn't very old when my family owned this dog, but one thing I do remember is the white hair that was all over our furniture. This dog had a lot of health issues and actually was only with my family for eight years. It was an aggressive dog that actually snapped at a few people. Whether we didn't train the dog well or its just a difficult breed, this wasn't the best dog for my family.
Chocolate Labrador
The perfect dog for the perfect time. My high school dog, Boe, was the best dog I've ever owned. A gentle breed that has energy and loves people. When we adopted the dog we rescued him from quite a sad situation. The previous owner left him on a chain all day and would leave bags of dog food for him. When we got him, he was 40 pounds overweight and had a serious eating disorder. Labs and other medium-to-large size dogs can get arthritis in their hips, especially if they are overweight. But with love, we got this dog down to an appropriate size and he was with us for 15 years. He was easy to train, shed very little, and was a perfect dog for a young family.
Dachshund

This little cross-eyed wiener dog lives with my parents currently. The Dachshund isn't a dog that I would chose, but this little guy grew on me. He might have a bladder problem when he is excited to see me come home from college, but it doesn't make him less lovable. This little guy can get a little chatty when he doesn't like something or someone rings the doorbell. He loves going on walks but those little legs don't get that far. He doesn't need a lot of attention but some is good for the little guy. His hair does get a little clumpy at times but nothing a quick comb through can't solve.
Yorkie

She isn't my favorite dog I've owned, but she is certainly the number one dog I would recommend. Smart, caring, low-maintenance. Jenny the Yorkie is one of the best dogs I've ever seen. Some dogs can be difficult in the car. Some dogs you have to clean up after all the time. Some dogs are yappy. Some dogs shed every where. Not this dog. She really is the best dog my family has ever own. Sure she can be a little mischievous at times.(One time she caught a bird out of the air and killed it.) But this is the number one dog I would recommend for anyone at any stage of their life.
