You don't always have to go big when it comes to owning pets. Small animals need a home too. Even though the care might not be as vigorous, you still need to know how to care for these little critters. Besides the obvious food and water, their are other things that are important.
Space. Inside and Outside.
You wouldn't guess it, but even those little legs need a stretch. Animals like Hamsters and Guinea Pigs could use a little space. While it's important to make sure that they have a big enough cage, its just as important to let them be in larger open places to roam and see different environments. They need some kind of freedom at least once a week.
Keep them Clean, But Not Too Clean
Just because they are small doesn't mean they don't need love. Turtles, lizards, birds, and other animals need their cages kept clean. It's important for these animals to be in clean cages. You even need to monitor the animal itself. Hamsters have something inside of them that makes them want to clean, and if their cages are too clean, they can stress themselves out and lose their sense of smell. Learning how to keep animals clean is essential.
